The Hair Salon is a space in Brighton, created to support individual freelance hair stylists in a comfortable and calm environment. We offer the support of a highly experienced team to help you become the stylist you want to be, and celebrate you as an independant stylist.
For stylists
You’ll have a place to take control and develop your own business. Having full ownership of your diary, booking system and billing. You’ll have direct contact with your clients, giving you ultimate flexibility.
Full access to a photographic area for showcasing your work and creating amazing social media content. We also have the ‘Studio’, a space you can use to create online content, stage photoshoots, and deliver both remote and face-to-face education.
Supplying your own colour stock that fits with The Hair Salon’s environmental ethos, allows you to use the brands you know and love.
Receive coaching and support on how to develop your business, surrounded by industry leading stylists to learn from, making the transfer to being self-employed less daunting.
For our resident stylists, full and part time, we have a rate of 40% (+VAT) rent, which gives you the opportunity to flourish. Invoiced monthly and covered with a flexible contract that supports your growth.
We also offer guest stylists who need the flexibility to use the salon stock of Kevin Murphy colour and Olaplex colour and resources of 50% (+VAT)
To top it off you will make 20% commission on everything you sell from our top quality retail product range.
The Hair Salon Rental Package Includes...
- Chair space for you and your guest.
- Full access to the consultation space and waiting area.
- Your own colour bar area with lockable storage for your stock and tools.
- Support staff to greet your clients and ensure they are looked after with refreshments. To manage walk in trade and retail needs, while keeping the salon clean and tidy.
- Gowns, aprons and towels, both disposable and fabric will be supplied.
- High quality and locally sourced refreshments for clients.
- Cleaning services and ethical disposal of waste.
- Use of furniture, fittings and selected salon equipment.
- Calming back wash area, fully stocked with shampoo and conditioner.
- Wifi services for you and your clients.
- Access to staff area and toilet facilities.
- All utilities.
- Your own profile on our website with links to your social media and contact details.
Artist supplies
Colour, peroxide and foil can all be ordered through The Hair Salon.
Bonding treatments: We support Olaplex which can be ordered through The Hair Salon.
Bowls, brushes and colouring tools, balayage boards, tail-combs and clips should form part of a colourists own kit.
Cutting and styling tools.
All equipment must be be marked to show its your property, to avoid confusion with fellow freelancers.
Booking system and POS equipment. BOOKSY is the preferred system and syncs with our website and has reporting functions that can support monthly invoicing.
