Harriets of Hove
The wonderful team at Harriets of Hove is passionate about the environment and has a desire to lower the amount of single-use plastics in the world. Their store (soon moving around the corner to George Street) is filled with environmentally friendly produce, plastic-free goods and plant-based foods – so it’s the perfect place to find a Christmas hamper full of feel-good treats to gift this year.
Hi Cacti
Where would The Hair Salon be without the wonderful Sabina from Hi Cacti? She is the ultimate plant guru, who provides us with the happy and healthy plants that are at the heart of The Hair Salon. Sabina has also written a cool book to help you care for and nurture your house plants and keep them thriving at home. The shop at Seven Dials is bursting with wonderful plants and other gorgeous Christmas gift ideas to give your plant-loving friends this season.
Go Botanica
We love Go Botanica for its gorgeous, ethically sourced cut flowers and beautiful bouquets. The team at Hove has been a huge support to The Hair Salon since we opened, and all the highly skilled florists are creative and innovative with their floral displays. If you need a beautiful bunch of flowers or a festive floral arrangement, head down to Hove station and treat yourself or someone special.
Hoogly Tea
Not only does Hoogly supply us with the best tea in Brighton, but founder Tina has a lovely Tea Lodge at Preston Park, where she also curates her tea. Hoogly has a strong ethical approach to making tea, and Tina’s Nordic heritage plays a strong foundation in this unique business. Visit the Hoogly Tea Lodge and indulge in some teatime activities and tasting this Christmastime. Check out their lovely glass teapots too, a perfect gift for your tea-loving friends and family.
T at Coffee Shops
Our absolute favourite spots for veggie and vegan food and drink! The Hair Salon team are regulars at their three locations, we even serve the same coffee as they do because we love it so much! Perfect for a Christmas shopping pit stop for tea and a sandwich, a delicious Sunday roast at The George, or a cheeky margarita at the Hove branch, you simply can’t go wrong. Alternatively pick up a bag of the best coffee in Sussex, roasted in Henfield by ROASTED.
Leela with Love
Our very own Leela has curated a selection of tempting gifts and goodies for sale at The Hair Salon. All sourced from small businesses in the UK, we adore her gifting style which is perfect for the Christmas season. Pop into The Hair Salon and see what temptation is under the tree!
Wanderlust & Wild
The gorgeous collection of hair clips, grips and slides that Harriet from Wanderlust & Wild has on offer at The Hair Salon, are not only sustainably made from wood pulp and are bio-degradable, but they are also stronger than your average hair accessory. Available in a beautiful selection of styles and colours, they are the perfect stocking filler for someone you love… or yourself this Christmas!
Kate Langsdale Florist
Brighton-based flower artist Kate Langsdale designed and made our fantastic dried flower arrangements at The Hair Salon, and is holding wreath-making workshops in the run-up to Christmas. Kate has an amazing eye for design and always delivers a unique style, so we’d highly recommend learning some wreath-making skills from her. Lucy & Yak
We LOVE our aprons at The Hair Salon, and Lucy & Yak just about covers everything when it comes to utility wear. They have a strong ethical mission and use organic materials and recycled fabrics to make their garments. We love that they are doing their bit for the environment and creating super cool clothes too. Their original store in Kensington Gardens, Brighton – is packed with colourful, planet-friendly clothes and accessories that are sure to bring joy to anyone this Christmas.
Berry & Son
If you’re after some recycled interior items then head to Berry & Son at Seven Dials. We love the eclectic mix of furniture and decorative pieces at their friendly, family-run shop. You’ll find some absolute gems here and although small stocking fillers might be in short supply – you’re sure to find a scene-stealing feature for your festivities. (like the huge mirror we have upstairs at The Hair Salon!)
